Salty Fridays was founded by Josh & Ashley Porteous
Ash, a Californian native, and Josh, from Manly Australia, had an unexpected start in Arusha, Tanzania, back in 2013. Their shared passion for travel and running charitable initiatives in Nepal and Tanzania led them to Sydney after welcoming their first daughter, Indie. In Sydney, they opened a health food cafe chain called Bare Naked Bowls. This is where their love for simple and nutritious food began.
Josh and Ash, conscious of the impact of food on their bodies, embarked on creating a simple guilt free drink. After the birth of their fourth child their passion had evolved into something bigger and saltier – margaritas became a ritual for them, fostering soulful connections with others. They aimed to develop a mixer free from preservatives, added sugar, or artificial colours. Salty Fridays was born and allowed them to cultivated a feel good culture whilst keeping their value of simple clean eating alive.
